In an effort to improve customer service at Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) has relocated its primary taxi pickup area for quick and easy access for arriving travelers. The new primary taxi pickup area, accessed via the crosswalk across from the lower level arrivals area roadway immediately outside the terminal, is just a short walk from the Arrivals/Baggage Claim area of the airport. The relocated taxi pickup area was opened during the holiday travel season and has been welcomed by taxi companies and customers alike.

In accordance with Transportation Security Administration regulations, taxi companies and drivers utilizing the new primary pickup area have completed required documentation and background checks to become ‘trusted agents’ in order to receive a badge to enter this area of the parking lot. Arriving passengers gain closer airport access to taxi service while taxi companies benefit from reduced parking rates and increased customer patronage.
