NEW YORK (OCTOBER 30, 2017) – Norwegian, which was named Airline of the Year 2017 by the Center for Aviation earlier this month, today launched new routes to the French Caribbean from Providence, Rhode Island and Fort Lauderdale, Florida and increased service on returning routes from New York City and Fort Lauderdale.
On October 30, Norwegian launched both a twice-weekly service from T.F. Green Airport and a thrice-weekly service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Fort de France, Martinique. On November 2, Norwegian will also launch a twice-weekly operation from Providence to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.
The airline is also increasing its service to the French Caribbean. From New York City, there will now be six weekly flights to Guadeloupe and four weekly flights to Martinique. From Fort Lauderdale, Norwegian is increasing its Guadeloupe service to three weekly flights.
“We are very pleased to resume our winter seasonal service from the United States to the French Caribbean, and also introduce service from Providence to both Guadeloupe and Martinique. Since we first announced our service to these then hidden gems in the Caribbean two years ago, we’ve seen both islands soar and appear on numerous ‘Must Visit’ lists,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian’s Chief Commercial Officer.
Both Guadeloupe and Martinique were unaffected by recent hurricanes and operate at normal capacity, with all hotels and resorts open for business.
Fares as low as $59 one-way to both Guadeloupe and Martinique are currently available for sale at Norwegian.com/us. The website’s low fare calendar also displays the lowest available fares to all of Norwegian’s destinations.

As of this week, Norwegian operates eight routes out of Providence, making the airline one of two carriers with the most routes from T.F. Green Airport. The airline opened its fourth U.S. crew base in Providence this summer to support its new service to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Norway.

Norwegian now offers 58 transatlantic routes from 15 U.S. airports to Denmark, France, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well six routes to the French Caribbean, totaling 64 routes out of the United States. Upcoming launches from the U.S. include: New York/Newark to Rome (November 9); Los Angeles to Rome (November 11); Oakland/San Francisco to Rome (February 6, 2018); New York/Newark to Paris (February 28); Chicago to London (March 25); Austin to London (Mach 27); Denver to Paris (April 9); Oakland/San Francisco to Paris (April 10), and Boston to Paris (May 2).
