November 23, 2022 – (Warwick, RI) – Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) is pleased to provide an air service update, including the addition of two new destinations served by Breeze Airways, which recently announced it will begin offering service to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and “Breeze Thru” direct one-stop service to New Orleans (MSY).

Rhode Island T. F. Green Airport is also pleased that Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana, SA, a leading Caribbean airline currently serving 14 destinations, has announced it will begin offering twice a week charter flights to the public between the Dominican Republic and Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) beginning December 12, 2022.  The charter flights to Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) are scheduled on Mondays and Fridays through January 20, 2023 with the option for the airline to extend service further should there be adequate demand for service.

Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana SA, has more than a decade of experience connecting the Dominican Republic with the Caribbean region, including service between SDQ and Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Antigua, Anguilla, Bonaire, St. Kitts, Tortola, Guadeloupe and Martinique. Tickets can be purchased directly at www.skyhighdominicana.com. With the addition of charter service to the Dominican Republic, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport now offers 32 nonstop routes via 11 airlines, 88% more than were available just five years ago when PVD offered just 17 non-stop routes from 7 airlines.

Another change in schedules is coming from Frontier Airlines, which announced that the airline will end operations at PVD at the conclusion of the current winter season on April 19, 2023. Frontier Airlines has been flying between PVD and Denver, Atlanta and Raleigh-Durham during the summer, between PVD and Fort Lauderdale and Tampa during the winter and between PVD and Orlando year-round. With the exception of service to Denver, each of these routes continues to be served by other airlines at PVD, minimizing the impact for travelers. While Frontier has decided to end PVD operations next summer, the airline is hopeful to return in the future.

Beginning on February 17, 2023, Breeze Airways will offer twice-a-week service every Monday and Friday to Raleigh-Durham, NC (RDU).  Breeze Airways has also moved up the start of its “Breeze Thru” service to New Orleans, LA (MSY) to February 17, 2023 just before Mardi Gras. A “Breeze-Thru” flight is a direct one-stop service, allowing passengers to remain on-board during a brief intermediate stop.  “Breeze Thru” service to MSY expands to daily options via Charleston or Raleigh-Durham starting on March 1, 2023.
