Warwick, R.I. – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) today announced that Regional Sky will commence service between T.F. Green Airport (PVD) and St. Hubert Airport, Montreal, Canada (YHU) effective November 5, 2018 and in so doing, allows the airport to expand its service into the Canadian market.
According to Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, Regional Sky will offer weekday nonstop service to Montreal with fares as low as $275 one way inclusive of taxes and fees. Travelers may reserve flights today at regionalsky.com. The new service will offer flights five times a week, Monday – Friday.

“We are delighted to welcome Regional Sky to T.F. Green Airport,” said Mr. Ahmad, “We are aware that many of our customers have anxiously awaited nonstop service to Montreal so we have been searching for an airline partner to deliver that service. We’re confident the travel experience on Regional Sky will be a highly positive one.”

The Montreal service will be the airport’s second Canadian destination with nonstop flights to Toronto already available.

James Gallagher, president and CEO of Regional Sky said “Passengers will enjoy competitive fares and easy departure and arrival facilities to help streamline the check-in process. By utilizing more convenient airports, it will significantly reduce overall travel time.”

“With new, nonstop flights to Montreal, even more travelers will get the chance to discover all that T.F. Green has to offer,” said Governor Gina M. Raimondo. “In the past year alone, we’ve nearly doubled the number of nonstop routes, proving once again that Rhode Island is on the move.”

“This past year has truly been transformational for T.F Green Airport and I’m delighted to once again be here to welcome yet another airline to the fold,” said House Majority Leader, K. Joseph Shekarchi. “Each new route supports our economy, which benefits all Rhode Islanders.”

“We are pleased to see the continued expansion of nonstop and international service at T.F. Green,” said Senate Majority Leader, Michael J. McCaffrey. “In the past year, nonstop routes have almost doubled at the airport giving Rhode Islanders a host of new travel options.”

“The arrival of Regional Sky to T. F. Green is a welcome addition to their expanding service base of international carriers,” said Warwick Mayor, Joseph J. Solomon. “Marking the first nonstop flight to Montreal, Canada from Rhode Island, the five weekly flights they’ll provide will only help to enhance the City’s marketability as an international hub for travelers and further promote our tourism and economic development efforts.”

“We hope Rhode Islanders will continue to take advantage of these new routes and fantastic fares,” said RIAC Board Chairman, Jonathan Savage. “We are committed to continue to build on these successes with additional routes, and I commend Iftikhar and his team on their successful efforts to well position Green Airport for the state’s travel demands.”
