TF Green is Redefining Travel

Just in time for the Passover and Easter holidays and Spring vacation, passengers are in for a new experience when traveling through T.F. Green Airport. To quote their new ad campaign, the airport is Redefiningtravel as “A calm journey from one place to another… Travelers can avoid the Boston chaos and fly T.F. Green Airport with its easy highway access, convenient parking and renovated state-of-the-art facility.
Call it Easy Street- the stretch of road leading to and from the airport.” Park on-airport in one of 8,325 parking spaces. An easy choice with parking garage and lot rates as low as $11 per day. Now through June 30, 2009, there is a promotional rate of just $12 per day in Garage B with Internet coupon at www.parkpvdairport.com.

The large Explosive Detection System machines (EDS) with their cumbersome screening process have been replaced by a new behind-the-scenes, fully integrated inline baggage handling system. Passengers can now check bags more quickly and pass through the security checkpoint with ease.

“These upgrades are another step in maintaining the high levels of customer service and quality that T.F. Green Airport is known for,” said Kevin Dillon, President and CEO. “In the coming months and year, we will move closer to the opening date of the Intermodal Facility, which will connect the train with the airport. All our improvements are done to enhance the curb to gate experience.”
Browse new shops while walking through the terminal. Visit Borders with its array of books and magazines, CNBC News offers a broad selection of newspapers and sundries for the hurried traveler, New York Times Bookstore features the signature “New York Times Best Sellers” plus DVD’s and videos, crosswords and games, Federal Hill News offers news and convenience items and Shades sells high-quality sunglasses for both sport and fashion. The Candy Hangar has sweet treats and specialty chocolates. Familiar restaurant favorites are open in-terminal including the Providence Oyster BarWolfgang Puck’sStarbuck’s and Johnny Rockets.
Travelers may notice more subtle details. A bright new terminal map aids travelers in way-finding. This map is available on the airport’s Web site. For ease of travel, T.F. Green Airport’s flight information monitoring has been enhanced with many new LCD displays placed throughout the terminal. Travelers are reminded that flight information is available via the airport Web site www.pvdairport.com.

These enhancements are part of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation’s Terminal Improvement Project, aimed at streamlining airport foot traffic and enhancing the overall passenger experience. “Choosing simplicity over chaos. AKA- choosing Green over Logan… is a no brainer.
