WARWICK, R.I.  May 10, 2017 –  Green Airport has ramped up its free Wi-Fi service with the fastest speed ever available at the airport.  Travelers should experience noticeable improvements in Wi-Fi services throughout the airport.

“We are pleased to be able to provide this enhanced customer service to our passengers.  With technology rapidly changing, our travelers want the best possible connectivity, and this enhanced and expanded service provides the speed and expanded coverage.  It is a noticeable improvement.” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President & CEO, Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC).

Jon Savage, Chair of the RIAC Board of Directors, said, “Our focus is on continuous improvement to make the travel experience more enjoyable for our customers.  Any upgrade to our terminal amenities is always a plus for the traveling public.”

The airport has increased the Internet connection coming into the airport by 300%, while individual user speeds have increased up to 5 times faster.  Additionally, this new service covers the entire terminal, not just the concourses, which is welcome news to all visitors who come to Green.

Green (PVD), located 8 miles south of Providence in Warwick, Rhode Island, is the 3rd largest airport in New England, with a catchment area that attracts passengers from nearby Massachusetts and southeastern Connecticut. Almost two-thirds (64%) of New England’s population lives within 75 miles of Green, and 25% of the US population lives within 500 miles of PVD.

Airlines serving Green:  American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United.  International service includes TACV, which flies year round from PVD to Cabo Verde; Norwegian Airlines, which will be starting nonstop service to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway and Scotland in the summer of 2017, Azores Airlines with seasonal service to Ponta Delgada and beyond.  Cargo carriers, Fed Ex and UPS, round out the service.  MBTA commuter rail service connects PVD to Boston.  Visit www.pvdairport.com
