Governor Requests that Returning International Passengers Self-Quarantine for 14 Days

WARWICK, RI – Sunday, March 15, 2020 – As of March 13, 2020, at the request of Governor Raimondo,  the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) issued an updated statement summarizing an Executive Order requiring additional efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (also known as “2019 novel coronavirus.”)

“To keep Rhode Islanders and our visitors safe, all passengers returning from any international travel are required to self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days.  Everyone should continue frequent handwashing and practice social distancing.  For more information on the coronavirus, please visit the Rhode Island Department of Health website at health.ri.gov/diseases/ncov2019/. ”

T.F. Green Airport continues to closely monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are taking action based on guidance from public health experts.  Our passengers are our top priority and we will continue to maintain a safe environment and address customer concerns.  The Rhode Island Airport Corporation has been taking additional safety measures including:

• Enhanced continuous cleaning protocols. We have increased the frequency and are using enhanced cleaning protocols to disinfect and sanitize the T.F. Green Airport terminal.

• Additional hand sanitizing stations. We have increased the quantity of hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes available for customers and employees throughout our airport.

• Encouraging safety & proper hygiene. We encourage all of our employees and passengers to practice good hygiene and frequent hand washing. Everyone plays an important role in containing the spread of the virus. We will continue to respond to the latest on COVID-19 with customer and employee safety top of mind. For additional information about the Coronavirus, visit the CDC website.
