Curbside drop-off and pickup for transportation services, touchless parking ticketing and pricing among several airport customer service improvements

Warwick, RI – September 24, 2020 – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) Board of Directors authorized RIAC to enter into an agreement with Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) for both drop-off and pick-up.  Both Uber and Lyft have already signed this agreement, allowing Uber to join Lyft in offering curbside pickup for patrons of T.F. Green Airport.  Both companies will operate in front of the terminal a few steps from the terminal doors.  RIAC staff are currently working with Uber on a transition to operate on-airport effective October 1, 2020.

“We are pleased to have Uber join Lyft in offering curbside pickup for travelers at T.F. Green Airport,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.  “Our patrons appreciate T.F. Green Airport’s commitment to easy, stress free travel, including the ability to quickly and easily access curbside transportation services.”

Transportation Network Company (TNC) operators have become a popular alternative transportation option. Since September 2018 RIAC has entered into annual Operating Agreements with Lyft, Inc. which has been operating from T.F. Green Airport’s commercial curb. Uber has previously operated offsite which was inconvenient for passengers at the airport.

RIAC also recently announced new parking pricing and reservation availability for airport operated parking, allowing one to reserve parking in advance for covered parking Garage A, Garage B, as well as short and long term parking Lot D.  Reservations and additional coupon savings lowering the daily parking rate to as low as $12 with no hidden taxes or fees are available at https://parkpvdairport.com

Additionally, new “touchless” parking ticket dispensers will be implemented for all airport operated parking facilities, including Garages A & B, as well as Lot D, providing yet another customer service upgrade to promote safe and healthy travel for all T.F. Green Airport patrons.  (Note: Due to lowered passenger volume, long-term parking Lot E remains closed until further notice.)
